The playgroup was established in September 2000 as a voluntary organization. The increase in the population due to the new housing development in the area tempted the project and with the help of Gerry Kearney, Christine O'Doherty and Catherine Waters the playgroup is now into its 3rd year.
As we are a voluntary organization we depend totally on the playgroup fees to cover the costs of running it successfully. It is situated in the primary school, which makes it convenient for parents with children already attending national school.
The playgroup room has a colourful and welcoming environment. It is well equipped with materials, which stimulates learning through play and structured activities. We can cater for up to 20 children at one time.
The staff endeavors to guide the child development at his/her own pace. We touch on the physical, intellectual, language emotional and social needs of the child through activities carried out in the playgroup.
