The Cloonmoney Grove Amenity Park is situated adjacent
to Cloonmoney Grove and near the Crusheen
Community Centre. The community park came about after the residence
of Cloonmoney Grove went about acquiring this property to develop
a public park for the residence of the area. This was agreed by the
Rural housing Authority and the residence associuation went about
accessing funds to develop same.
The local Cllr at the time was Michael Kelly and he achieved in getting
funding from the Clare County Council to develop same.
The main waork was done by John Brigdale and Gerry O Doherty while
all other residents helped in some way. The landscape and shrubs were
advised by Tom Fitzgoibbon and the front walls were done by Tom McNamara
and will no doubt stand the test of time.
T he park is maintained by the locals and mainly by the young men
and women of Cloonmoney Grove throughout the year and donations and
fund raising is done mainly via a church gate collection for to maintain
same.
W e hope this well used facility will remains a lovely feature of
the New Crusheen for years to come.
