Nine years ago, the first child came from the Nuclear Power devastated area of Chernobyl to holiday in Crusheen. Every year since, the number of children travelling has grown and they benefit enormously from the fresh food and clear air. To date, twelve families in the parish have hosted children during their three week stay and have found it a most rewarding experience. All funds required to pay for the childrens' flights have been raised locally, making the project a full community effort.
